We built a job-seeking and networking platform for JobABC, tailored to Chinese international students and young professionals in Australia. It brings together professional connections, job opportunities, project practice, identity verification, and community interaction in one product, helping users gradually transition from campus relationships to a real professional network.

What international students lack is often not job opportunities, but a path into the workforce. Traditional job platforms typically assume users already have local experience and a complete resume, but the biggest difficulty for international students is precisely the lack of local projects, industry connections, and communication opportunities. Simply increasing the number of job postings does not solve the 'no experience, no job' problem. Therefore, we did not turn JobABC into another job board. Instead, we combined networking, project practice, and job opportunities so users can accumulate verifiable career assets step by step.

Therefore, we did not turn JobABC into another job listing site. Instead, we combined networking, project practice, and job opportunities so users can accumulate verifiable career assets step by step.
Career networking must first solve authenticity and match quality
If education, positions, and experience cannot be verified, professional connections are hard to build trust. The platform must also avoid aimless friend requests, mass harassment, and low-quality information, ensuring that every connection users make is closer to real professional needs.
When launching in the Australian market, personal profiles, identity documents, employer information, and communication records also have clear data permissions and usage boundaries. We cannot over-expose user information just to improve matching efficiency.
Add value to career connections through verification and practice
We recommend connections, jobs, and practice projects based on users' majors, experience, and career directions, and encourage communication, applications, and project participation to be completed within the platform as much as possible, reducing information jumps and relationship breaks.
For the trust system, we establish multiple verifications such as real-name, education, and position, while implementing tiered control over profile visibility and contact methods, allowing users to be discoverable while maintaining necessary privacy boundaries.
In terms of business model, the platform serves job seekers, employers, and project publishers simultaneously, building a multi-sided market through recruitment services, membership benefits, and project matching.
What we helped JobABC break is a common cycle: without local experience, you can't find a job, and without a job, you can't accumulate local experience.
Technology is not the goal — exponential business growth is.
